When I was newly introduced to the waxing world, I didn't know hard wax from soft, bikini wax from Brazilian. There are, as I learned, important distinctions between bikini and Brazilian waxes.
So for those who are new-ish to waxing, the simplest explanation is this: Bikini waxes remove hair along the outside of the bikini line. Brazilian waxes heed no line. All hair is fair game, and the amount removed depends on the preference of the individual being waxed. Simple enough. But there are a few terms that are helpful to know. Basic Bikini: Removes all hair outside of the bikini line. Deep V (French Bikini): Follows bikini line further in, leaving a small, triangular patch of hair. Deep Square (also French Bikini): Removes hair along the sides, leaving a square shape. Brazilian: Removes most hair, leaving only a small strip. If it is preferred, all hair is removed. And that is the terminology in a nutshell. Of course, if you have any questions or would like a post on a specific topic, feel free to comment, email, or call.
