Ahh, September. School is back in session, the weather is considering possibly, maybe, eventually thinking about cooling off; and we are headed straight into Pumpkin-Everything Season. September means that we've already been here for four fabulous months. September means that the same time the seasons are changing, we're making some changes of our own...but more on that in a minute. We at The Waxing Studio spend quite a bit of time talking about-you guessed it- waxing. But we are going to change gears a bit and for the next few posts talk about skincare in general. Ever wonder what the elements of a good skincare routine are? What causes breakouts? If the food you eat really affects your skin? We are going to tackle these questions and a few more in the coming weeks. *If you've got a question, let us know! We love talking to you all.*

Do good brows make the world go round? It's unlikely, but they make our day just the same. And now better brows are even easier to achieve.
Tinting. It is basically a specialized dye for your eyebrows and eyelashes. A semi permanent vegetable dye to be specific. The tint (available in many different shades) is applied to eyebrows making them bolder, a little fuller, and darker. Applied to eyelashes, it gives the appearance of wearing mascara, with darker and longer lashes. The dye lasts about 4 weeks though it can vary a little from person to person. Notes
We thought these articles about tinting were great and wanted to share them with you! Additional Resources This interview over at Beautylish explains the whole process very nicely. We loved hearing about the benefits of brow tinting from Erica Metzger with this piece from Refinery29. Emily Rekstis actually tinted both her eyebrows and lashes and wrote the tale here for all of us to read. She gives a step-by-step of what happened (and included pictures!) As always, if you have any questions, feel free to comment, call, email, contact by carrier pigeon, whatever suits you. We'll be here. When I was newly introduced to the waxing world, I didn't know hard wax from soft, bikini wax from Brazilian. There are, as I learned, important distinctions between bikini and Brazilian waxes.
So for those who are new-ish to waxing, the simplest explanation is this: Bikini waxes remove hair along the outside of the bikini line. Brazilian waxes heed no line. All hair is fair game, and the amount removed depends on the preference of the individual being waxed. Simple enough. But there are a few terms that are helpful to know. Basic Bikini: Removes all hair outside of the bikini line. Deep V (French Bikini): Follows bikini line further in, leaving a small, triangular patch of hair. Deep Square (also French Bikini): Removes hair along the sides, leaving a square shape. Brazilian: Removes most hair, leaving only a small strip. If it is preferred, all hair is removed. And that is the terminology in a nutshell. Of course, if you have any questions or would like a post on a specific topic, feel free to comment, email, or call. We are thrilled to be in Pensacola! In our first month, we've been given such a warm welcome, and we want to say thank you. Our first few weeks have been wonderful, and now that we've been able to meet so many of you, we would like to formally introduce ourselves. Who we areTrish, our fantastic esthetician, has worked in the beauty industry for ten years; and the studio is all her design. She'll answer any questions, walk you through each step of the waxing process, and help you decide which facial is right for you. Our receptionists, Chandler and Hannah, will answer questions about services and set your appointments. Our goal is to help you de-stress and feel your best. What we doWe are The Waxing Studio, so of course, we wax! Eyebrows, lips, underarms, legs, bikinis, and Brazilians are just the beginning. We offer full-body waxing, so if there's any hair, we can take care of it. But not only do we wax, we also offer a variety of facials, extractions, makeup applications and tutorials.
Thanks for the great first month, Pensacola. We're excited to grow and do business with you! |
